WIBF - FAQs

Our website is still under construction, therefore this FAQ will be completed over time.

The conference is designed to bring together current research from the fields of international business, multinational corporations (MNCs), foreign direct investment (FDI), and small and medium sized multinationals with a particular focus on international political risk management. The objective is to analyse patterns and forces, which influence political risk management in today’s world with respect to FDI and MNCs. Therefore, the conference offers an excellent opportunity to meet those people who have interest and expertise in these areas. With this regard, academics and practicing business people should attend the conference to exchange information and ideas on a variety of international business topics.

The conference will be held from May 23 to May 24, 2023 at the Çengelköy Campus of Doğuş University, located in the Asian side of Istanbul.

Please refer to the important dates and deadlines segment of the related conference.

As is known, an extended abstract and a full paper are quite similar in some respects except the length. In other words, the primary difference is that an extended abstract is significantly shorter than a full paper. For the WIBF’s case, we require those authors aiming to submit an extended abstract rather than a full paper, to submit at least a 3-page extended abstract. If they want it could be much longer up to 6 pages.
As is stated in the WIBF’s Typing Style Guidelines Template (Style Guide for Submission to Würzburg International Business Forum International Business Conference Proceedings), one page prepared with the required 10-point type is approximately equivalent to 3 pages of double-spaced copy printed with 12-point type. Therefore, a 3-page extended abstract will be 9 pages when it is 12-point type and double spaced (including the references).
The format of an extended abstract will be exactly the same like a full paper as is indicated in the WIBF’s Typing Style Guidelines Template.

Istanbul has two main airports that are commonly used for commercial flights:

Istanbul Airport (IST): This is the main international airport in Istanbul and serves as the primary hub for both domestic and international flights. It is located on the European side of Istanbul.

Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW): Situated on the Asian side of Istanbul, Sabiha Gökçen Airport is another major international airport. It is often used by low-cost carriers and serves both domestic and international flights.

These two airports are well-connected and cater to a large number of passengers traveling to and from Istanbul. It's advisable to check your airline and ticket information to confirm which airport your flight will depart from or arrive at. Additionally, keep in mind that there may have been developments or changes in the transportation infrastructure, so it's a good idea to verify the current status of Istanbul's airports.

In late May, Istanbul typically experiences mild and pleasant weather as it transitions from spring to summer. Here are some general characteristics of the weather in Istanbul during this period:

Temperature: Late May in Istanbul usually sees daytime temperatures ranging from 18 to 25 degrees Celsius (64 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit). It can get warmer as the month progresses, but evenings tend to be mild.

Sunshine: Expect a good amount of sunshine, and the days are getting longer. However, there might be occasional rainfall, so it's a good idea to be prepared for both sunny and rainy conditions.

Humidity: Humidity levels can be moderate, but it's not as humid as the peak of summer.

Given these conditions, it's recommended to bring a mix of light and comfortable clothing. Here are some suggestions:

Daytime: Light and breathable clothing such as shorts, T-shirts, and summer dresses are suitable. A light jacket or sweater may be needed for cooler evenings.

Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes are advisable, especially if you plan on exploring the city on foot.

Accessories: Sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen are essential to protect yourself from the sun.

Rain Gear: A compact umbrella or a rain jacket may come in handy for the possibility of occasional showers.

Istanbul's weather can be somewhat unpredictable, so it's a good idea to check the local weather forecast closer to your travel dates for more accurate information.
