Dr. Rainer Wehner is a Professor for General Business and Accounting at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS). He is the Director of International Relations at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and responsible for the faculty’s double degree programmes. He regularly serves as a guest lecturer at several universities and teaches courses in ‘strategic management’, ‘diversity management’, ‘accounting’ ‘general business’ and ‘intercultural management’.

Prof. Dr. Emin Akcaoglu

Prof. Dr. Emin Akcaoglu is a professor at Manisa Celal Bayar University, Turkey. He recently was a guest professor at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wuerzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) in Germany. Earlier, he served at various other universities and industry. Before becoming a full-time academic, he was Underwriting Manager at Turk Eximbank, the Turkish official export credit agency. He teaches courses such as ‘international trade and project finance’, ‘international banking’, ‘multinational corporations and foreign direct investment’, 'international business', and ‘international business strategy’.

Dr. Tiina Brandt – Track Chair: Fostering Entrepreneurial Mindset

Principal lecturer, Dr (docent) Tiina Brandt does research and undertakes international projects in entrepreneurship, leadership and organizational behaviour. She is especially specialised on individual qualities (e.g. psychological capital, innovativeness and personality) impacting on entrepreneurship and leadership qualities. She has supervised several doctoral theses in this field. Currently she is leading an international research team of academics from 15 countries about culture and entrepreneurship, and also involved in a research project about AI and organizations’ know-how.

Heiko Fischer

Heiko Fischer, M.Sc., is research assistant at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Mosbach at Campus Bad Mergentheim. As part of his cooperative doctorate with Ruhr-Universität Bochum, he is researching the digital transformation of sales. Prior to his doctoral research, he studied business administration and engineering at DHBW Mosbach and Chemnitz University of Technology. He has also worked for a drive system manufacturer and an IT startup. Mr. Fischer gives lectures on "design thinking", "scientific working", "digitalization of services", and "customer success management".

Prof. Dr. Alfredo Jiménez – Track Chair: Country Risk and International Political Risk Management

Dr. Alfredo Jiménez is a Professor at KEDGE Business School in Bordeaux, France. He has a Master degree in Business Economics Research and a PhD in Business Management. Previously he was Associate Professor at the University of Burgos in Spain. His research interests are focused on the process and determinants of success in the internationalization strategy of firms. His current lines of research include the impact of institutional variables, political risk, cultural and psychic distance and corruption on foreign direct investments and entrepreneurship. He is also working on a research line devoted to virtual team and multi-cultural team management and dynamics. He has published several papers in international journals including the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Business and Society, International Business Review, Journal of Business Research Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of International Management, Management International Review, and European Journal of International Management. He has also been a visiting scholar in different institutions in Norway, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Italy, Ecuador and Mexico, as well as participating in the X-Culture Project as a member of its Advisory Board and instructor. He is project reviewer for the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and for the Government of Ecuador and Poland.

Prof. Dr. Halit Targan Ünal

Dr. Halit Targan Ünal received his PhD from Istanbul Technical University in 1986. He became associate professor in 1989 and professor in 1995. He has worked at Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul University, Istanbul Okan University, and Dogus University for more than 35 years and held various administrative positions including director of vocational school, director of social sciences institute, and head of department. Currently he is faculty member at the Department of Business Administration at Dogus University. He is also heading the Continuing Education Application and Research Centre at Dogus. Professor Ünal has authored  many books and articles nationally and internationally on money and capital markets, microeconomics, banking, international finance, and real estate.
